Welcome to Studio ishi

My name is Shira, I’m a mother of 3 gorgeous kids and I run a home-based graphic design studio in Sydney’s lovely Northern Beaches.

You can say I was born with a designer-teaspoon in my mouth –  Dad was a talented Jeweler and Mum was a very crafty person herself.
I worked as a Graphic Designer for over 15 years –  at newspapers, magazines and design studios.

Design is a part of my everyday life –doing Crafts with the kids, visiting community markets and keeping an eye open for bits of furniture from council pickup I can renovate – but more than the love of design itself, I’ve always been keen on finding ways to simplify and organise my daily routine, especially since 3 kids came along with their happy clutter and ever-busy sometimes-complicated weekly schedules to work around.

That was my inspiration for Studio ishi – providing beautiful, practical and affordable solutions for parents just like me (Whether you have one kid or a seven-seater full of them, you’ll know what I mean…)
To give you a glimpse into the studio’s creative process, I’ve started a blog where you can read some stories and thoughts about how the products came to be, and how they can easily help you harmonise your family’s life. I’ll also add some tips, DIY ideas and free downloadable stuff, so it’s worthwhile jumping in and checking what’s new.
